2009: A YEAR IN SHOE-VIEW

January 5th, 2010

As a self-proclaimed shoe connoisseur I find my fancy tickled at every wedding. I love capturing the detail shots of the wedding dress, the wedding day jewelry and most of all the wedding day shoe.  Many of the Metropolitan Imageworks brides of 2009 far exceeded my shoe expectations and embraced color, style and embellishments in their shoe selections. Talk about eye candy for the visual artist!

Thank you for letting me live vicariously through each of you (and your shoes!)

Due to my excessive shoe collecting and limited space, my husband tried to implement a rule (or compromise) that for each pair of new shoes I bring into the house I must toss out an old pair.  It pains me to do so.  Instead I have found some great hiding spaces in boxes in my closet, in the bottom of the clothes hamper and the trunk of one of the cars.

Eileen & James 8.08.09

October 9th, 2009

Eileen and I actually met two years ago at a mutual friends bachelorette party in Savannah, GA.  We had just completed my website redesign and I was excited to show it off to the girls.  Eileen asked for a card and kept it tucked away in her desk for years, until she got engaged and began her own wedding planning. Suffice it to say my images struck a chord with her and she didn’t have to look anywhere else for a photographer!

I love it when a bride minds some tradition and has blue in her ensemble. Eileen strutted down the path in towards James in fabulous blue shoes! Her ensemble also included  vintage details such as a party dress, a retro hairstyle complete with pin curls and a stunning headpiece.  Erie Park was the perfect city setting for their nuptials and their friends and family. Afterwards, the entire group walked up the street to Reza’s for dinner and dancing. In all, a perfect day!
