Metropolitan Imageworks

Last Wednesday in Phoenix dawned bright and early and warm.  I met up with the Klem family for a portrait session with the entire clan.  Barb & Steve rented a lovely house for a couple months and during the final week their two children, spouses and three grandchildren made themselves at home.  The grandkids were such troopers during the group photos and individual family photos and they were rewarded with pool time afterwards.  I couldn’t help but stay and hang out on the deck while photographing their antics and splashing.

I feel like I am part of the family when I photograph Bianca and her older sister Toni.  I walk right in and am immediately welcomed into the midst of daily life and handed off a baby to hold!  They enjoy my company, feed me and are excited to get caught up on what’s new with me as well as share what’s new with them. Sometimes Grandma Roseanne is around for part of the shoot and her hugs are just the best.

From Sara and Anthony’s wedding in August 2007 to photographing Toni every three months since her birth in the fall of 2008 and continuing with Bianca’s birth this past November, I am very fortunate to have such incredible clients. And they make adorable kids too!

Here’s a sampling of Bianca and the family during her three-month portrait session. Mom was also uber-prepared for big ‘sis Toni to make an appearance and creep into pics.

So much of photography is about capturing moments. I am very much of the opinion that a portrait does not require the subjects to smile at the camera. If I have captured a moment, then it is perfect.

Last Sunday kicked off the Metropolitan Imageworks Studio One-Year Anniversary!  I had clients in and out all week and will be posting some of the teasers over the next week too!

Noah brought his little brother, Daniel out for a go and showed him the ropes of how to pose for me. Mom and dad joined in for a few pictures as well.

I’m very excited to announce that Metropolitan Imageworks has been accepted into the International Society of Professional Wedding Photographers!  The ISPWP is a small and exclusive group of “quite simply the best wedding photographers in the world” with incredibly high standards for it’s members.  Please visit the site and share with anyone you know who might be looking for a wedding photographer.  The ISPWP members all meet the criteria of being true professional photographers that have shot a significant amount of weddings as lead photographer, have their website/portfolio and multiple full weddings reviewed by a panel of peer judges, exercise ethical business practices, operate under the ISPWP code of conduct and provide references and/or are sponsored by a current ISPWP member.

This endorsement is a great addition to the good standing Metropolitan Imageworks already holds as a 6-year member and blue medallion winner of the Wedding Photojournalist Association.
