I’ve come full circle with Evelyn in the past four years and we revisited our original portrait location from when she was a year old.  Now she is five and younger sister, Katherine, is two and they are just the best of friends. In four years of portrait sessions this was by far the BEST shoot of these two gorgeous girls. (Ok, Cate was pretty easy and amicable at her six-month session but she couldn’t do much other than sit there and look cute!)  Both Evelyn and Cate were full of smiles and twirls and posing and running around. Seriously they were a photographer’s dream subjects this afternoon!  See you again next year!

Maddie and Liam and their parents joined me again for another Fall themed portrait session, this time in Naperville. Thankfully the weather held out on Sunday morning and we only had to contend with a few sprinkles early on. Working with Maddie and Liam is very fun, especially when we made Star Wars references through most of the session thanks to Liam.

And the two responsible for it all.

Elizabeth spent some time with little Miss Luca Jane a couple weeks ago. Here’s Elizabeth’s take on the session.

Luca was born December 29, so she’s 19 months. She says quite a lot of words; I think she said the word ‘fly’ for the first time during the photo shoot. She calls all kids Avery, after a friend of hers. She laughs when others laugh. She has an array of faces including duck face, “geek face,” mad face, and ‘o’ face. It’s hilarious and I captured it all. She’s getting her canines, so she was teething quite a bit and putting her fingers in her mouth, but Mom administered Ibuprofen an hour before the shoot and it kicked in after a little while. Luca wore a barrette for the first time today and she even left it in for a few pictures!

Here’s the little man back again on the Metimages blog, this time for his nine-month portrait session.  I love his smile, I love his faces, I love his hair but most of all I love his chins!

My blog is once again graced with sweet Gemma, this time for her six-month portrait session. She was pure delight and giggled and laughed and smiled through the session. Strangers even stopped during our shoot and said she was just perfect. I heartily agree.

Here’s Toni  again, this time at 18 months. She was well rested and had the best outfits selected. We barely made it out into the summer evening just before we lost all daylight and had a fun time running around the park and running the bases. Her daddy would be so proud!

I had a date with two cuties on Monday. First we had a tea party, followed by story time. Then we jumped on a chair for a bit. Next came a few photos with Grandma. Finally we all headed off to the Victorian House. We lucked out with some fantastic fall weather and sunny blue skies!

I’ve had the pleasure of photographing this bundle of energy since she was just a few days old, every three months like clockwork. That’s SIX portrait sessions!  I was telling her mom during the portrait session that this past year had flown and it seems like it was just yesterday I photographed Ashlyn for her first birthday.

Ashlyn is a star in front of my camera but this session was the first time the weather cooperated and we were able to make it outside to the park.  There was too much fun to be had, equipment to climb on and fields to run around, not leaving Ashlyn much time or inclination to sit and pose!

This little guy seemed to have a different agenda on Sunday afternoon during our portrait session. If there is one thing I am good at (I know, I know, BESIDES taking pictures) it’s patience with the little ones. He ran the show that afternoon and let me know when he was ready for giggles and smiles. After a while he was ready for a lot of giggles and a lot of smiles, so my playing the waiting game panned out!

She might be serious but she sure is cute! I met up with Katie and her parents in Lincoln Park for another portrait session. This one was mostly for Katie and her mom who is expecting.  The portrait session was a nice treat compliments of Katie’s dad. How sweet is that?
