Reem and Haitham planned a lovely wedding day in a short amount of time from a few states away. Fortunately they had the help of friends and family in the area. I received an email requesting my availability for a date I was already booked in September but luckily for Metimages and Reem and Haitham, of course, Elizabeth was available and excited to step right in and shoot.
Elizabeth met up with Reem and Haitham at Cantigny on a cool, cloudy and somewhat damp fall afternoon for a portrait session of the two of them around the grounds. No matter the weather, Elizabeth was able to capture some beautiful moments and the backdrop was stunning. Suffice it to say the weather was also in favor of not a lot of strangers milling around in the background. It always works out! They all headed over to the Marriot in Oak Brook for a fantastic reception with family, friends and lots and lots of dancing!!!
Congratulations Reem and Haitham!

Elizabeth spent some time with little Miss Luca Jane a couple weeks ago. Here’s Elizabeth’s take on the session.
Luca was born December 29, so she’s 19 months. She says quite a lot of words; I think she said the word ‘fly’ for the first time during the photo shoot. She calls all kids Avery, after a friend of hers. She laughs when others laugh. She has an array of faces including duck face, “geek face,” mad face, and ‘o’ face. It’s hilarious and I captured it all. She’s getting her canines, so she was teething quite a bit and putting her fingers in her mouth, but Mom administered Ibuprofen an hour before the shoot and it kicked in after a little while. Luca wore a barrette for the first time today and she even left it in for a few pictures!

Yes, another Metropolitan Imageworks wedding on March 21, 2009!!! This one photographed by the very talented associates, Elizabeth Sattelberger and Ariel Biscan in Chicago, IL. I’m extremely proud of my girls, look at the images they captured, who wouldn’t be proud of their mad photography skills?!?
Kate and Josh planned their Chicago wedding long distance from sunny Southern California. It meant lots of internet research, conference calls and whirlwind trips to Chicago to pack as many vendor meetings into one day as there were daylight hours. Both are professionals in the entertainment industry, and for that I thank them, as I appreciate anything with entertainment value! I remember when we first met with Kate to discuss wedding photography which was a few days after we brought home our new puppy, Mater. I know for a fact Mater was super excited to have a new lap to sit on for an hour during our meeting. It totally warmed my heart the way Kate snuggled him. If you love my dog and you love Metimages photography, then you are our ideal client! Congratulations to you both! You looked glowing and happy the entire day. I am truly able to experience the wedding through the photographs!
Elizabeth has been shooting for Metropolitan Imageworks (aka Rachael Silvers Photography at the time) since the end of 2002. Over the years she has added a unique viewpoint at each wedding and event. She is very stealthy and able to be everywhere at once. I remember editing one of our film weddings about 5 years ago and looking at a 4×6 print and thinking before I placed it into the “KEEP” pile, wow this is fantastic! I then turned it over to look at the roll # and realized it was an image that Elizabeth had captured. I knew at that moment she was ready to step into the role as lead photographer and increase our wedding photography availability on dates I was already booked. I enjoy editing the images from weddings Elizabeth has photographed, as her images are the exact storytelling images we aspire to capture, yet they are also inspire to me to see a wedding from a different shooter’s eye and challenge myself the next time I pick up my camera.

Ariel joined our team in the Spring of 2007. We knew each other for a few years on a social level through mutual friends. I was donating my photography services at a fundraiser for one of those mutual friends and Ariel was running around me in circles with her new Canon dSLR, roving the outside the dance floor to get images, hitting up people sitting at the tables and getting some detail shots as well. I walked over and quickly snapped my fisheye lens onto her body and encouraged her to get ONTO the dance floor and get close to people and see what she came up with. I loved her fearlessness and the way she attacked. After seeing some of the images, I asked Ariel if she wanted to shoot with me at weddings as an assistant. I did have to ask two more times as she knew weddings are a huge responsibility for any shooter, whether lead or assistant, and she wanted to be 125% sure she could produce usable images. Ariel has never disappointed! Not only does she have incredible talent for capturing special details and working with the families for group shots, she’ll dance for you later in the evening if you ask nicely.
