Talk about customer and vendor appreciation! Laurus Technologies hosted a Wednesday night boat cruise on the Odyssey with delicious food, flowing cocktails, personal photographers, music and a magician. Starting at Navy Pier, the Odyssey cruised North and then South along the lakefront, regaling the crowd with stunning skyline views and a lovely sunset. The boat stayed put around 9:30 p.m. just south of Navy Pier for a spectacular view of the fireworks show. In all, a great success.

BAILEY
I had a make up session last month with Bailey at the Metimages Studio. He missed the Furry Fotos v2 last fall because his mom wasn’t feeling well. We all FINALLY were able to match up our schedules and get Bailey in front of my lens. He is an Australian Shepard and aftwards, since he was so good, I brought Mater down for a playdate!

Well, that took a while!
Forgive me for not being on top of the blog. Wedding season 2008 came and went and consumed all my time – which is a good thing! It was yet another successful season and I would love to do a recap, in fact I think I might borrow an idea from my pal Tina Carter, Vrai, and ask all my 2008 wedding clients to share their favorite image! Let me add that to my to do list!
I am prepping for another Bridal Fashion Debut show this coming weekend at the Phoenix Convention Center. Come by and say hi, we’ll be in room 1 again.
Metimages is having another contest! This time we want to know the story of your PROPOSAL!!! The team at Metropolitan Imageworks will judge the entries based on emotional appeal, creativeness and uniqueness. Send an email with your proposal story in 1,000 words or less to contest@metimages.com
I thought it would also be nice to take the time to share a few images from the last 2 winners – Kate & Kyle 11.14.08 and Amy & Sean 12.31.08
Kate & Kyle 11.14.08
Amy & Sean 12.31.08
Both couples entered the contest we held last June and wrote about their Unique Arizona Wedding.
This could be YOUR wedding photography!

And the winners are . . . .
Yes you read correctly. Winners. The entire Metropolitan Imageworks team reviewed the entries and ranked them based on the criteria – What makes your Arizona Wedding Unique? (We also considered my schedule and dates I am available!)
Our final decision for most Unique wedding is awarded to Amy and Sean who are having a New Year’s Eve wedding beneath the evening sky at their home in Queen Creek! Amy and Sean built their home and with the help of friends and family put finishing touches on the exterior and yard – the very yard where the ceremony will take place. These same friends and family will join with Amy and Sean to celebrate their union and welcome in the New Year. Amy made a striking comment in her entry essay, “I know the night will be breathtaking and the ceremony will be perfect, regardless of any mistakes or problems that may arise. The reason I know this is because I am marrying my soulmate, surrounded by the people that mean the most, in the perfect setting.”
I love a bride who knows the most important part of the day supercedes any trivial details. Congratulations Amy & Sean!!! See you on December 31, 2008!!!
We also agreed as a team that one particular entry we received was very heartfelt and touched us all. Adrienne and Kyle of Peoria, Arizona are getting married on November 14, 2008 and are focusing on “a time of joyous tears instead of the sad ones of late.” Adrienne and Kyle, you have a compelling story of a recent loss, Kyle’s dad, and I would love to photograph your wedding!!!
I am so excited for all of the folks who wrote in details of their day. I am sorry that I cannot make everyone a winner. Please do check back on our blog now and again for updates on Amy and Sean and Adrienne and Kyle and their Arizona weddings. We’ll also make another showing at the January Bridal Fashion Debut, who knows – there may be another contest in our future! Stay tuned for details!
