Metropolitan Imageworks

Last Tuesday I spent an afternoon with a fun group of Hilton folks  photographing their headshots and a team photo of the group. I felt like such a meanie because of lot them asked to see images right away and since I did not allow previews for the first five people I couldn’t very well show images to the next 13 people, so they all had to anxiously await the finished portraits which I put in an online gallery yesterday. It’s amusing to me because in the days of film I would photograph corporate headshots and reply on one of our very first point and shoot digital cameras just to take a quick photo to check lighting and to show the male executives that they looked very angry if they did not smile. It worked like  charm using the instant gratification technique. Now that almost the entire photo industry is digital, people are so used to instant gratification and I just wanted them to trust me. In the end, I got some great photos and they’re very pleased.

Talk about customer and vendor appreciation! Laurus Technologies hosted  a Wednesday night boat cruise on the Odyssey with delicious food, flowing cocktails, personal photographers, music and a magician. Starting at Navy Pier, the Odyssey cruised North and then South along the lakefront, regaling the crowd with stunning skyline views and a lovely sunset. The boat stayed put around 9:30 p.m. just south of Navy Pier for a spectacular view of the fireworks show.  In all, a great success.

If you know me in person, you know I am a packrat.  My life/house/office is cluttered and full of stuff. But I can also promise you that if you know me in person, you can vouch that these are not MY closets.  I am working on a project with Patty Wolf of Stuffbusters documenting the before and after images of a series of closets and household spaces of one of her clients.  Last week we met up at the location and chose specific areas to highlight.  This is a transformation that you will want to follow-up on and see the after results. Patty is a Certified Professional Organizer in Chronic Disorganization (CPO-CD) and works with her clients to teach them effective habits that not only help clean up the disorganization and clutter but most importantly how to maintain organized spaces going forward.  I’m sure I can personally benefit from some of her tips! If you know me in person, you would agree.

Not one to sit around idle, even when in a vacation spot like the great state of Arizona, I like to pack as much shooting in as possible.  When I was in Phoenix two weeks ago I photographed two portrait sessions, two weddings and found time to work on a shoot for one of my commercial clients, TuffWriter Tactical Pens.  If you haven’t checked these out yet, you really should.  TuffWriter Tactical Pens are fully functioning writing implements complete with Fisher cartridges (just like the astronauts use) but are also designed as a tactical tool.
