Metropolitan Imageworks

Natalie and Joe came out to the Metimages Studio in May for Natalie’s Maternity Portrait Session and we had a blast!  Together we chose outfits, made Natalie get up and sit down and get up again (Joe helped a bit), played with different backdrops and backgrounds and overall spent a wonderful afternoon capturing an amazing time in their lives. Can’t wait to meet the little guy soon!

Christian made his First Communion in the middle of May at St. Ferdinand Church in Chicago along with 79 other grade school children. Here’s some teaser images from the Church ceremony. I’ll add some teasers from the reception soon!

Holden was back again, this time for his two-year portraits. He is going to be a big brother at the end of this summer so we started this portrait session with a few pics of Holden, mom and the baby in the belly. I love watching this little guy grow into a little boy!

Yes I know, I am very behind at posting teasers to the blog. Please forgive me. I met up with Isaac and his folks a couple weeks ago. Larry and Mary are Metropolitan Imageworks wedding clients from almost four years ago and we went back to the park in the west ‘burbs where they had their first glance on their wedding day. How cool is that? Isaac showed me the full spectrum of his personality and I loved seeing his many expressions.

We re-created a pose from Larry & Mary’s wedding day, this time Isaac was included! I sense a theme, let’s do this again next year!

I recently switched to a Blackberry and my usual a.m. habit is to wake up, roll over, grab my phone from my nightstand and check email and of course Facebook updates.  I was very excited to see the notification email from the International Society of Professional Wedding Photographers, ISPWP, that the contest results were available on the website. I clicked over to it on my phone and it was like molasses dripping off a spoon waiting for the images to load. I did make it though three categories and found two of my images that placed and then I headed to my home office to view them bigger (and quicker) on my laptop.

I had a make up session last month with Bailey at the Metimages Studio. He missed the Furry Fotos v2 last fall because his mom wasn’t feeling well. We all FINALLY were able to match up our schedules and get Bailey in front of my lens.  He is an Australian Shepard and aftwards, since he was so good, I brought Mater down for a playdate!

Isabell is yet another returning professional subject for me. I have been photographing her since her birth three years ago and prior to that I photographed her parent’s wedding.  Connor is Isabell’s cousin and together they had a blast jumping and spinning and tossing me a few smiles in the studio last week.

This celebration has been a long time coming and now Wendy and Ryon are husband and wife. I was very honored to be asked to photograph Wendy and Ryon’s wedding celebration. Not only did I capture the portraits, the moments, the action and the emotions, I also celebrated right along with both of them.

Wendy and Ryon had their intimate wedding ceremony a few days earlier at the courthouse on a very significant date, May 5th. They invited family and friends to celebrate all together on Saturday. Wendy and Ryon’s party hosting skills are so incredible, even Elvis joined in and rocked along with the crowd!

Honestly, I love weddings so much that when I am photographing them I am completely in my element. I always hold a place in my heart for all of the Metimages clients. Wendy is also someone I call a friend and she impressed me with her wedding planning skills, attention to detail and of course all the walking she did during for our outdoor portrait session.

Lani and Michael Part One took place Monday afternoon in Washington D.C. Seventeen family members and friends (myself included) joined them for an intimate ceremony in the West Boardroom at the Supreme Court of the United States. During the ceremony almost everyone had a chance to speak to Lani and Michael on certain subjects of a strong marriage such as how to be a good spouse, the virtues of cooking, longevity in marriage and how to listen to each other and really hear what is being said.

The intimate theme continued onto the reception in a private room at DC Coast while friends and family continued to share toasts to the wedding couple. Most of the guests traveled to D.C. from other cities and Lani and Michael were truly surrounded by those who know them best and love them most.

I’m very excited for Lani and Michael Part Two coming to a city near me later this summer and a chance for more blessings, more celebration and of course more photo ops!
