Erica and Michael invited me out last week for a maternity portrait session to document this very amazing and very special time in their lives.  I had worked with Erica previously about a year ago capturing her beauty in an IM session. I like to think I had a hand in all this. :WINK: :WINK:

See you guys again in January when the baby arrives!

Logan and his mom met up with me at Cantigny early one morning last week.  We had some sun and cool fall temps, but it was still a great day to be outside running around.  The purpose of this shoot is a surprise for dad at Christmastime.  Let’s just hope mom can keep a secret for one more month!

Brennan and Annalyn were exceptional during their Metimages portrait session last week!  I’m almost postivive Brennan practiced his smiling and posing in front of the mirror. And Annalyn, she’s just plain adorable so no practice necessary.

As a photographer, I get invited into many different aspects of my clients lives – from weddings to births to milestone portraits to small events. When I work with the same families over and over again, my clients begin to feel as if they are my family too!

Rose celebrated her 90th birthday surrounded by family and friends that included 4 generations!  Honestly, there is no better way to celebrate.  Rumor has it she renewed her license and drover herself to the party too!

Happy Birthday Rose!  See you on your 100th, I’ve already been booked!

I’m not sure I have much more to say than CUTENESS OVERLOAD!!!  These three little girls (two sisters and one friend) stopped by the Metimages studio Sunday morning for a themed portrait session.  After the initial warm-up period they were so much fun! I cannot wait to see what the moms come up with for the next session.

I had the pleasure of photographing the Naperville Area Humane Society Black Cat Gala for the second year in a row. As a fond supporter of the NAHS, it’s great to help out in different ways.  Once again, Meson Sabika outdid themselves on the food and service and sangria.  The tables were jam packed full of items for the silent auction and although it seems a harder year for most, the generosity and donations poured in from the supporters during the live auction and giving portion. Thank you everyone who attended and your generous donations!

I had a date with two cuties on Monday. First we had a tea party, followed by story time. Then we jumped on a chair for a bit. Next came a few photos with Grandma. Finally we all headed off to the Victorian House. We lucked out with some fantastic fall weather and sunny blue skies!

We had so much fun during Jurgita’s maternity shoot in August that her and her husband just had to have me back for Jacob’s newborn portraits (and 3, 6, 9-month and one year so there will be lots of Jacob to come on the Metimages blog over the course of the next year.) Mom did a great job with the wardrobe and dad knocked the calming affects out of the park! We even got a few smiles in between Jacob’s feedings, naps and Blue Steels.

I’ve had the pleasure of photographing this bundle of energy since she was just a few days old, every three months like clockwork. That’s SIX portrait sessions!  I was telling her mom during the portrait session that this past year had flown and it seems like it was just yesterday I photographed Ashlyn for her first birthday.

Ashlyn is a star in front of my camera but this session was the first time the weather cooperated and we were able to make it outside to the park.  There was too much fun to be had, equipment to climb on and fields to run around, not leaving Ashlyn much time or inclination to sit and pose!

This is my first Emily & Michael of 2009.  What’s really funny is that I was anticipating this particular Emily’s email inquiry for wedding photography last summer. I finally got an email from Emily getting married at the end of summer and I wrote back immediately thanking her and telling her I was waiting for her email! But oops, wrong Emily!  (Don’t worry, she booked me too!) The right Emily finally emailed a few weeks later and we got it all sorted out.

Emily and Michael had a wonderfully intimate ceremony at Old Saint Patrick’s followed by a quick stop with the wedding party at Union Station and a longer, but animated and fun limo bus ride to the Katherine Legge Memorial Lodge in Hinsdale for the reception. And I must point out their wedding party had the best snacks I have ever witnessed on the limo bus.

Some people like cake and some people don’t. Emily and Michael fall under the latter category and decided to go all out on pie. They had a pie buffet with Chocolate Silk, Lemon Meringue AND Key Lime pies. They were all delicious. Yes, I tasted all three flavors.

After all the guests devoured the pies, everyone headed upstairs for more cocktails and dancing and talk about a rip roaring party, the dance floor is an entire room on the second floor of the lodge and it was packed the entire time!
